Small change if you decide to take the boat back from Wat Arun (the 7th at 7k). Money for refreshments.
Food/drink:
Plenty of places to refuel. No need to carry water.
Let’s go!
From BTS Saphan Taksin exit 1, cross the river and go through Chaloemprakiart Forest Park, turning right up Charoen Nakhon, past the 1st temple, Wat Sawan on the left. After about 1km, take Charoen Nakhon soi 1 on the right, go over the khlong, noticing the flagpole in front of you, then right then left to arrive at the beautiful Wat Thong Nopphakun. You need to come back to Charoen Nakhon but then take Thanon Chiang Mai and a left turn to discover Wat Thong Tammachat.
You can effectively continue these little soi streets but try not to miss Wat Pichaiyat and Wat Anongkharam, back on the main road. Then take soi Somdet Chao Praya, second left over the khlong and followed Phaya Mai road round to the river and then onto a breezy 1km footpath along the river. Follow the Chao Phraya and cross the inlet, Bangkok Yai khlong on the small pump station so there is no need to go back to the road. Wat number 6 is Wat Moleelokayaram, close to the Temple of Dawn, Wat Arun, about 7k into the run.
Take Thanon Wang Doem southwest and left onto Thanon Itsaraphap. Turn right to soi 23 for Wat Ratchasittharam and continue down to soi 21 following the small khlong, although you will need to be back on the main road to cross Bangkok Yai khlong again. Straight after the bridge, take soi 19 and pass Wat Praditaram and the temple at the university.
Then Nurulmubeen Mosque past the university and if you turn right onto soi Khang Rong Rap Chamnam, you will pass the 12th and final temple, Wat Hiranruchi. From the King Taksin monument, continue Thanon Somdet Phra Chao Taksin back to WongWian BTS but why not continue the smaller streets of Khlong San, going back east to the river and then the start point.
