3 Bangkok races on a packed October 12th
The Empire Tower We Run was a newcomer to the Thailand running calendar. The event was well promoted and got fully booked weeks before the race start. Great turnout, a green concept and an interesting route (Sathon – Wireless Rd – Taksin Bridge). Kenyans lay hands on the top spots of the mini and “half” marathon. However, a half marathon is 21.1k (21.0975k), not less than 20k. Please correct this to next year’s race!

The 10th Hotel Charity Run: Nice and easy to follow route. Went out of the Suan Luang Rama 9 Park (Bangkok) turned around at 5k, then back. The announced distance of 10k was very accurate, which unfortunately is not always the case. The race was well organized. Easy to sign up in the morning, good food and giveaways at the end and nice prizes including hotel and dining vouchers. A lot of participants and many fast runners. The 30-39 age group took the overall spots, a Thai national, Japanese and American.
Another Bangkok mini marathon on the 12th of October was the Ronald McDonald House Charities Mini Marathon – Run For Kids. The 10k was won by a Kenyan who received a 10,000 Baht, a “hidden” cash award which wasn’t announced beforehand.
Thanks to Randy, Klang and Lido.
It was my goodness the RMHC charity is one of the best organized mini run this year. People keeps smile back home. I also surprise that there were many 10,000baht prizes for the winners. I wish the event will be more.
