Columbia Trail Masters & more
Not that many Thailand running events over the holidays, but now they start to pop up again.
The weekend’s major race is the Columbia Trail Masters on Sunday. AMA Events is the organizer of this Pattaya trail run featuring distances up to 50 km through heavy terrain. I’ll participate in the 25 km category myself, my first ever trail run. Will be fun to run in the nature for a change, even though Bangkok’s streets also has its obstacles. Have been told about the demanding course, and this safety notification is kind of worrying:
Safety Considerations specific to this event include: Dehydration;Hyperthermia;Wildlife (snakes, spiders, stray dogs, mosquitoes…..); travel through rugged areas (abrasions, twisted ankles, etc).
Another running event on Sunday is the SCG 100th Anniversary Charity Run which has been postponed two times due to the protests in Bangkok. Third time’s the charm, and this time the organizer seems to have found a suitable date, the 12th is namely the day before the Bangkok Shutdown starts.
The Pink Day Love Run is a 6.5 km run in Lumpini Park (Bangkok) and Trio for Justice is a half marathon in Chiang Mai where the weather is still cool and nice.
Stay away from snakes, avoid dehydration and be careful of hyperthermia, abrasions and other things you don’t know the meaning of. Have a nice weekend!
Thank you for the notification. But it would be an appropriate service to advise that the Pink Day Love Run has already been postponed to advise 9 March.
Noted, thanks Rod. Will update right away.
