Let’s go!
From BTS Surasak exit 2, follow the direction of traffic and take the 1st road left, staying left until you reach a small khlong path on the right. Cross under the express way and follow the khlong until Charoen Krung Road. Turn left after about 1.2k and continue until soi 79. Follow the small streets and another smaller khlong until the dual carriageway Charoen Rat Nuea Tai road. Cross over, heading right until the 3rd 4th or 5th small soi on the left, all of which will weave you round to soi Yudi. Again, cross this smaller street – lots of shops here – and turn right, continuing only about 250m until the khlong path on the left which heads east.
There is also a nice little shop on this khlong. Leave the khlong before the end and cross under the expressway, before the big overhead junction but still continuing East until a path to the right of the Aman Narumit Mosque. Pass through this community and the school and the Kwang Tung cemetery is on the left, which you can enter on foot, although I would not recommend running here. Turn left out of the cemetery and ideally take Chan 35 (right hand side) up to Thanon Chan, crossing to pick up Thanon Yenchit which will lead you up and left round to the entrance to Tae Chio cemetery.
Tucked away behind the skyscrapers of Sathorn, this peaceful cemetery has surprisingly been adopted for jogging, fitness, Takraw, playing cards and karaoke as well as its more obvious use. Already 100 years old, it makes for an interesting destination for a city explorer run and you can certainly enjoy the unique atmosphere and history by jogging a few pleasant laps before heading north back to the BTS.
