Vertical Marathon Training
The Vertical Marathon 2013 is coming up next month. Every time I’ve run this race, I’ve promised myself not to do it again. Most likely though, I will break that promise and climb up those painful 1,093 steps this year too.
This is a kind of race where I truly should learn how to pace myself better. I realise I can’t run at full speed up the 61 floors of Banyan Tree, but I will probably run it the naive way nevertheless. This means: go all in from the start, blow up after some 20 floors and then drag myself up the remaining 40 or so floors. I will however, do it in sub 7 minutes again.
Brooks Running Thailand is organising training to prepare for this event. Sessions are held every Wednesday and Saturday at Rangsit University in Bangkok.

I’m 55 – where I live is very flat, so I’ll be relying on my running training. Winter has just finished here, so I’m sure I’ll be hot and sweaty at the top!
Good luck Henrik 🙂
I rely fully on my running training too, and it seems to work.
Best of luck to you too David!
